You might remember my old setup. When Lucy was born I had to move my studio area to the breezeway. I didn’t have room for a computer desk and a drawing table so I combined the two.

I shortened the desk and removed the lower desk and shelf portions. I slid the drawing table in and put the extended the keyboard tray under the table.

After years of this setup I wanted something that had more storage and would be easy to expand upon. So I started with some measurements of my drawing table.

A year ago I found this old door in the garbage down the street. I sanded it down and replaced a section where the door handle and lock where. I then cut the whole thing down the middle with a circular saw. I attached a sheet of plywood (cut to size) on the back. I add a couple of heavy duty shelves.

Candi Whitlow Myers found some mistake paint at Lowe’s. In true Candi fashion: it was a brand that had a $5 mail-in rebate, since it was mistake paint the can only cost $5. That’s right, free paint!

All I had to do then was slide the art table in place. Now I just need to add some cubbies and racks to hold more art supplies.
